Even though digitalisation is today’s buzzword, yet people often ask what it exactly represents in the field of transformers. This edition was also requested by our readers. We have prepared it together with leading experts in this area to shed light upon the impacts of digitalisation within our industry, in view of rapid changes that digitalisation is bringing into the entire global energy sector.
For years, researchers have paved the path of doing things digitally, such as integration of design, manufacturing, testing, remote setup and maintenance of machines, as well as digitalisation of documentation. In transformer operation, there are digital solutions for fleet condition assessment and asset management, predictive or condition-based maintenance and many more. As a result, the processes have been gradually changing from traditional to digital.
