Tamini completes FAT on a 500 MVA, 400/220 kV unit for ESB Ireland

Italy, Legnano: Tamini Trasformatori s.r.l. has successfully completed a comprehensive Factory Acceptance Test program (FAT).
The FAT was completed at the Legnano factory, north of Milano (Italy) on a 500 MVA, 400/220 kV unit for ESB. The one-week long comprehensive program, witnessed by Robert le Roux from ESB Engineering and Major Projects, also included a temperature rise test of two hours at 130 % overload.
Michael McElligott, the Project Manager from ESB Networks stated: “This is a very critical unit for ESB since it will be installed at the Moneypoint 400/220 kV Substation, the new green energy hub – called Green Atlantic, in the west of Ireland; the main power hub in the Irish network, with high demand of availability and reliability”.
