India, Gujarat: Transformers & Rectifiers India Ltd [TRIL] has landed an order to supply transformers to Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd.

In a stock exchange filing, TRIL said that it has been awarded an order to supply transformers valued at $9 M (Rs. 66 crore) to state power utility Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd (GETCO).

With this order, the company’s order book as on 14 June 2021 stands at $131 M (Rs. 966 crore).

“The company continuously thrives to deliver quality products and services and over a period of time has become a leading manufacturer of transformers in the country,” the stock exchange filing said.

It may be mentioned that towards the end of May 2021, TRIL had announced the winning of an order valued at $11.3 M (Rs. 83 crore) from GE T&D India. This was a third-party export order and took TRIL’s outstanding book position, as of 26 May 2021, to approx. $153 M (Rs.1,121 crore).

The difference between the order book positions of June 14 and May 26, 2021, could imply that orders worth $21 M (Rs.155 crore) (the difference) were completed during this period.

TRIL clocked exports with a growth of 78 %. Exports accounted for 13 % of the company’s total sales in FY21, significantly higher than 8 % in FY20. In fact, in Q4 (January to March) of FY21, alone, exports worth $8.7 M (Rs.64 crore) were made. In other words, nearly two-thirds of the total exports in FY21 came in Q4 alone.
