The substation will help ensure energy supply to cluster sites and social facilities in the northern part of the Novoportovskoye field. Commissioning is scheduled before the end of 2020.

The construction of the building was adapted by specialists to work in extreme climatic conditions. Thus, Sever will be able to uninterruptedly provide electricity to a settlement with a population of 10,000 people. At the same time, a minimum number of personnel is required to maintain the facility: the signal is transmitted in digital format and provides maximum automation of all processes. All control over the operation of the systems will be carried out remotely from the dispatching gas turbine power station of the Novoportovskoye field.

“Today, an innovative approach to production tasks is the most important factor for their successful solution. This fully applies to the energy sector. By creating high-tech generation facilities and infrastructure in the harsh conditions of the Arctic, our experts are gaining unique experience. I have no doubt that these competencies will be in demand in the implementation of new large-scale projects, ”said Andrei Komarov, Director of the Gazprom Neft Gas and Energy Directorate.

The construction of a digital substation was first implemented in the Arctic at oil and gas production facilities as part of a national project.
