USA, Massachusetts: Vineyard Wind LLC, the offshore wind developer building the 806 MW Vineyard Wind 1 project in the US and a joint venture between Avangrid and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), has reported blade damage on a wind turbine in its offshore development area. This occurred on Saturday evening, when no personnel or third parties were in the vicinity of the turbine.

The developer reported that GE Vernova, as the project’s turbine manufacturer and installation contractor, will be conducting an analysis into the root cause of the incident. No other details about the damage were provided. Vineyard Wind will continue working with various stakeholders to ensure the health and safety of its workforce, mariners, and the environment.
