Colombia: The partnership between WEG and CHEC S.A.E.S.P. BIC (a company of the EPM Group) could lead to a more reliable energy supply across Colombia. WEG transformers are set to strengthen the infrastructure in the country, and the supply includes two three-phase 60 MVA transformers and two three-phase 40 MVA transformers, both of the 145 kV class. It also includes three single-phase 50 MVA autotransformers, 245 kV class, manufactured in the Gravataí and Blumenau plants in Brazil, one three-phase 4 MVA transformer, two three-phase 12.5 MVA transformers, two three-phase 20 MVA transformers, and one three-phase 300 kVA transformer manufactured in the Sabaneta’s plant in Colombia.

The transformers belong to a three-year framework contract. They are set to be installed in different substations in the CHEC market and will allow the expansion of the electrical system to ensure efficient energy distribution and to strengthen the infrastructure to meet the growing demand in Colombia.
